The Dry Stone Circle - Community Garden - Lambhill Stables
On 8th and 9th of August Lambhill Stables teamed up with The West of Scotland Dry Stone Walling Association and The Glasgow City Heritage Trust to host an exciting weekend of dry stone walling at Lambhill Stables community garden. Within this stone circle will be a series of seats surrounding a circular pond that will hold the rain water collected from the potting shed roof. The pond will encourage animals, birds and insects to the garden and any overflow water will provide irrigation for the garden.
Come down and enjoy the beautiful stone wall circle, the garden is located just behind the old sand stone lambhill stables on the canal and has spectacular views over Possil Marsh.
The course was a real success, everyone had a great time learning this traditional skill and were amazed by what we managed to achieve in just 2 days. Anyone interested in getting involved and learning about how to build dry stone walls please do get in touch as we hope to host more weekend courses like this in the near future.
